King Oyo’s will remains central to the succession process. “King Oyo’s Will should be followed. Its validity can only be challenged in the courts of law,” Mayanja said in his recommendations to the President. “There is a group saying a child doesn’t exist, but then King Oyo said there was an heir. The courts will say, prove to us that the heir exists,” Mayanja said. He added that the Will also provides an alternative line of succession should the primary heir not qualify.
