Rotate Church of Uganda priests

EDITOR—I wish to share my views with my fellow believers in the Anglican Church. I suggest that our priests should have no boundaries or specific jurisdiction of service in only one diocese.

Church ministers should preach anywhere they can effectively evangelise. They should be rotated regardless of tribal affiliation or birthplace. The Roman Catholic Church’s system is better because even a muzungu missionary can be posted to Karamoja.

It would be good if Anglican priests were rotated between different dioceses after a period of three years or so. It could also serve as an internal control mechanism within the Church for better management. The other thing that should be done is to build houses of similar fashion and facilities so that there will not be fear of social environment change.

We are one in Christ and there is reason to treat priests differently yet they do the same work. The bishops should be transferred first. I am impressed the Anglican calendar this year has some missionary bishops within the province.
