THE armoured brigade commander, Col. David Muhozi, has vowed to support the mushrooming projects initiated by the wives of the soldiers in Masaka.

He made the pledge during a party for the wives of the UPDF officers of the armoured brigade at Kasijagirwa in Masaka municipality on Saturday.
Muhozi added that he would also support their dance and drama group, as well as the heifer and poultry projects.

Over 100 wives of UPDF officers, with support from Rebecca Mugume, started a mushroom growing project to boost their incomes.

“I will give more support to sustain the mushroom project for our wives because the market for the mushrooms is already in place,” he said. Muhozi hailed the wives of soldiers, saying their support to the UPDF would be rewarded.

“Our wives have stood with us in the bad and good times and they keep our families when we have gone on duty. We should always recognise their efforts in our struggle,” he said.

He cautioned them to avoid immoral behaviour that could ruin their families.
On the coming elections, Muhozi promised that the UPDF would not meddle in the electoral process.
